PTC Events

Back to School BBQ
The Back to School Bar-B-Q is annual event started by Mr. Maker 13 years ago to welcome students and parents back for the new school year.  The PTC sponsors this event and helps to put it on with the expert help of the kitchen staff.

Super Slammin’ Sham Bams
An alternative to a Jr. High Dance, the Sham Bam provides an opportunity for students in grades 5 – 8 to socialize outside of school.  These events have included a bonfire and indoor games (wii games, ping pong, etc.).

Movie Nights
Geared toward the younger grades (pre-k to 4) although any student may attend, a newly released DVD movie is projected on the big screen in the gym.  Refreshments are sold to enjoy during the movie.  Students are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows & comfy seating to this event.

Fall/Winter/Spring Festivals
Festivals are a fun way to bring in the season and provide a day of entertainment for the family.  Included at the festival may be a bounce house, individual games, face painting, group activities and a concession.

Scholastic Book Fairs
Book Fairs are a great way to raise funds for the activities the PTC offers along with encouraging reading.  The PTC generally sponsors a book fair in the fall and in the spring.

Healthy Snacks
Each week, PTC volunteers prepare healthy snacks to be sold for 25 cent each.  The amount that can be purchased is limited by age.  This provides an opportunity for each child in the school to get a healthy snack at a very low cost.

Educational Enrichments
The PTC seeks to help teachers enhance their students’ education by providing extra enrichment opportunities beyond what the budget allows.  Examples of some of these events include:  Gordon Corbett (Orbit with Corbett), the Dino Man, and others.

Gifts to the School
Each year the PTC likes to donate a significant gift to the school.  Past gifts include a new welcome mat for the entry way with the school logo, a new LCD projector, and many others.
